Nexans Norway
Nordisk Staal has manufactured a new impregnation pot for Nexans Norway for the production of submarine cables.
When Nexans Norway received the order to manufacture a submarine cable that would connect Norway and Germany to transport energy between the two countries, Nexans Norway needed, among other things, a larger impregnation pot than previously manufactured. Nordisk Staal has previously manufactured cable pots for NKT and with that expertise, Nordisk Staal secured the job.
650 ton impregnation pot
Nordisk Staal has, in collaboration with structural engineers, calculated the 650-ton impregnation pot, after which Nordisk Staal has carried out all working drawings including design.
The large parts for the assembled pressure pot are manufactured in Nordisk Staal's large production halls, where we can handle large and complex steel structures. This is complemented by the expertise of our machine and machining department, among others.
The very large parts for the impregnation pot are assembled in Nordisk Staal's production halls, at the garden in Frederiksværk and not least at the Nexans Norway site. Nordisk Staal also handled the actual transportation by ship and also understood the advanced assembly of the impregnation pot.
